Malaysia Launches Energy Exchange for Cross-Border Green Electricity Trade

Kuala Lumpur, April 15, 2024 – In a significant move towards regional energy integration and renewable energy development, Malaysia has initiated the establishment of the Energy Exchange Malaysia (ENEGEM) to facilitate cross-border sales of green electricity to neighboring countries. The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) announced today that the government has approved the creation of the ENEGEM platform to facilitate the trading of green electricity with neighboring nations, with an initial focus on supplying Singapore.
